Dr. David Waters

Dr. David A. Waters is a native of Black River, a small community near Lake Ontario in Upstate New York. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, majoring in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry. After college, Dr. Waters attended the University of Connecticut where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1998. While a dental student, Dr. Waters received the South Park Award for his outstanding community service. The award recognized his work at a Hartford, Connecticut homeless shelter where he organized his classmates to provide dental care to its residents. Following dental school, Dr. Waters went on to complete a three year residency in orthodontics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Waters and his family live in Greenville where Dr. Waters has been practicing since 2001. Dr. Waters opened his own practice in Easley in the Spring of 2007.

Professionally, Dr. Waters is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Southern Association of Orthodontists, South Carolina Association of Orthodontists, South Carolina Dental Association, Greenville County Dental Society, and is active in a local dental study club. He volunteers his time as a member of the Facial Anomalies and Clefting Evaluation Team at the Center for Developmental Services in Greenville.

Outside of work, Dr. Waters is a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Greenville where he has volunteered in the children’s programs for the past five years. He is known by family, friends, co-workers and patients, for his dry sense of humor, his love of Diet Mountain Dew, his apparent addiction to sour candy, and his devotion to his family.
